About Gorham, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Gorham, Illinois is a small village found in Jackson County. As of 2010, the population was only at about 260 residents, and the community is known for almost being annihilated during the Tri-State Tornado that ravaged the area in 1925. Gorham is found within the middle of the Mississippi River floodplain, which offers some of the most fertile farming land in the Midwest. However, this village is at a low elevation in the area of the floodplain called the “Bottoms,” so it is highly susceptible to flooding.

Gorham is a small community, and it is not a popular tourist attraction or place to find entertainment opportunities. There are a few businesses located here, including Whistle Farms and Fountain Bluff Fish Farm. There also a variety of great restaurants located in the surrounding communities, including Bottoms Up Family Bar & Grill in Jacob and Mase’s Place in Pomona.

The weather in Gorham will vary depending on the time of the year. Summers tend to be hot and humid, and average highs usually reach the mid to upper 80s, although temperatures well into the 90s are perfectly common. Central air conditioning units run quite consistently during the summer months in order to keep residents comfortable, but as the weather cools off as the summer turns to autumn and then winter, they will turn off their air conditioners in favor of their heat pump or furnace systems. Daytime highs in January just barely surpass the freezing point on an average day, so it is important that some type of system is in place to keep home interiors warm.

Proper climate control systems can go even further than just regulating indoor air temperature. When working at optimal efficiency, these systems can save residents money on their utility costs. Additionally, they can improve indoor air quality by removing dust and allergens from circulating air. This is especially beneficial for Gorham area residents who are living with allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions.
