About Carbondale, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Jackson County, Illinois, Carbondale is a city with nearly 26,000 residents. It is the 20th largest city in terms of population outside of the Chicago Metro Area. Carbondale is located in the Big Muddy River watershed on the northern boundary of the Shawnee National Forest. Carbondale is located about 96 miles from St. Louis, and it is also home to Southern Illinois University.

Carbondale is home to a variety of attractions and recreational opportunities. There are several large shopping malls in the community, such as the University Mall found on the east side of town. The city is known for its numerous parks and outdoor spaces, including the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge, Giant City State Park, and the Garden of the Gods Wilderness Area. Carbondale also hosts a variety of festivals and events throughout the area, including the Lights Fantastic Parade, the Big Muddy Film Festival, and the Southern Illinois Irish Festival.

Carbondale is situated within the northern boundaries of a humid subtropical climate zone. The area experiences four distinct seasons, and in January, the coldest month of the year, daily highs average at about 32 degrees. However, there are about 16 days that fail to surpass the freezing point at any time, and when snow occurs, driving conditions could become quite dangerous. Residents will want to ensure that they have an HVAC professional check over their home heating system during these months to plan ahead for the colder weather.

Likewise, air conditioning and other home cooling systems should be examined during the spring to ensure optimal efficiency. Since the area tends to become quite hot and humid during the summer months, it is crucial that residents have access to a cool retreat for the most uncomfortable days. A properly serviced central air conditioner can also keep utility bills affordable while also improving indoor air quality.
